Observation of the growth of Acer insulare

In December 2000, I received seed of Acer insulare from a European friend.
It germinated in the spring of 2001, and after about 20 years, i
t became a mature tree and began to produce seeds.

Seeds collected in the fall of 2021 germinated in the spring of 2022.

It sprouted in early March 2022 and showed two cotyledon.

They showed their leaves in mid-April 2022.

They have grown to about 10 cm in May 2022.

They grew to about 15-20cm in October 2022.

In late December 2022, the lower leaves turned yellow first.

All leaves turned yellow in early January 2023.

They dropped their leaves and entered the spring of their second year.

They began to show new leaves in early March 2023.

They have grown to about 20-40 cm in mid-May 2023.

Appearance of growth in mid-June 2023
