Mt. Fuji seen from Fujimi-daira of Mishima city

Fujimi-daira is located at the east end of Mishima city, on Route No.1
near Hakone pass between Mishima city & Hakone cho.

We often see Fuji whose right ridge line is graceful in Mishima city
because the left side of Mt. Fuji is hidden by the Ashitaka mountains.
But coming east up to Fujimi-daira heights, we can see beautiful ridge-lines of right and left.

There is a Stone tablet inscribed with a haiku by MATSO Bashoh.
MATSUO Bashoh (1644-1694) is one of the most famous poets in Japan.

"With the scattered shower with mist, Mt. Fuji cannot be seen today,
though I am at the finest place for Fuji-viewing right now.
It would also be a good fun such a day! " (my translation)

I realized that I spent happier time than Bashoh did.

I visited here again on Mar. 29, 2008.
