The scene of fishing from the rocky place is drawn in the unique composition by Hokusai. The strong torrent and the rock that projects over the river make us a sense of realism with thrilling feeling. Beyond the morning haze, Fuji shows its face composedly.
I think this is one of the masterpieces of Hokusai.
According to some books, Koshu-Kajikazawa is located near the Fujikawa river, where the Kamanashi river and the Fuefuki river meet.
October 2, 2008, I visited Fuji seen from current Fujikawa town (old Kajikazawa town).
The Togawa river joins the Fujikawa river at a little south of the confluence of the Kamanashi river and the Fuefuki river.

As I go up a gentle slope along the Togawa river, the face of Fuji becomes larger and larger.

Then, I returned to the Fujikawa river, walked south along the bank, and I came to the location with a view of Fuji finally.
On that day there was no torrent of the Fujikawa river at all. Water surface was seen slightly among the weeds on the waterside.
I decided to try to find on another day the place where both the Fuji and Fuji can be seen clearly.
At around 3:00 pm, December 01, 2008, I visited Oboshi park that is on the hill west of Fujikawa town.
The Fujikawa river on that day was also a gentle stream, not so dynamic stream as that in the Ukiyoe-print of Hokusai.

You would see these Fuji from the Minobu Road, such as Fuji seen from Honmachi in Fujikawa town, Fuji seen from Nishijima-cho in Minobu-town, Fuji seen from the summit of Mt. Minobu, and Fuji seen from Saigyo Pass in Nanbu town, as follows;
I guess that the glimpse of these Fuji along the way gave a sense of relief and excitement to travelers who walk on the Minobu Road along the Fujikawa river.
