Mt. fuji seen from Jukkoku pass

DAZAI Osamu mentioned Jukkoku pass in his novel "Fugaku-hyakukei" as follows.

"The only Mt. Fuji seen from Jukkoku pass soared high. That was good. ......."

Then, I visited here on Dec. 03, 2008 by recommendation of DAZAI.

Mt. fuji seen from Jukkoku pass

This Fuji is a really majestic and fantastic.

Izu Skyline and Ashinoko Skyline were made in 1962.
The Izu SL is the south of this pass and the latter is the north of this pass.
And scenery of Fuji seen from each parking lot on the two SLs are all beautiful,
but they look the same as that of Fuji seen from Jukkoku pass.
Therefore, the charm of Jukkoku pass seemed to have become hackneyed than before.

However, I would like to remember the name of Jukkoku pass
that had been admired for a long time by lots of Japanese people as a fine Fuji-viewing spot.
Fuji from Jukkoku pass has the face of the southeastern side,
and has the Hoh-ei Crater in the left of the center,
and has quite beautiful right and left ridge lines.

Today we are in full infrastructures such as vehicles, network of roads,
and weather information and the like,
so, it has become possible and easy for us to see beautiful Fuji from many places.

Moreover, it's a great pleasure to admire Fuji through the Internet with you.

Cheers for Mr. Dazai, Jukkoku pass & Modern civilization.
