On the fallen trees and the damages from salt by the gale of typhoon No.4
A blackout by the typhoon No.4 lasted for 13 hours on June 19, 2012 in West Shizuoka Pref.
Through the night, PC and TV were out of operation.
Owing to the course of the typhoon, the south wind was strong in Hamamatsu
and it seemed that the seawater of the Pacific was scattered in this area.
Suffered the damage from salt the leaves of maples were changed their color into curled and brown.
I will show" the change of color and the state of the curl" of leaves in my garden.

In Murakushi maple garden which is near Lake Hamana, there were the fallen trees caused by strong south wind and east wind.
A tree of cedar of the 10m fell down, and three cherry trees of height more than 10m fell down westward,
and the several trees were inclined to 45 degrees from 60 degrees.
Color-change and curl of leaves were remarkable for the young maples.
The young maples were covered by many broken twigs and the withered branches
of the miscellaneous trees. I worked for two days for leaves-washing by water,
gathering of broken twigs, and sawing of the fallen trees.

Roadside maple-trees, Acer buergerianum of height of 5-7m were all changed into dark brown in Yuto-cho, Hamamatsu.
Their leaves were changed so much, that they will make new leaves appear after they fell their leaves.
And Japanese maples in my garden have begun to make curled leaves of the southern side fall.

As above mentioned. Roadside maple-trees, Acer buergerianum of height of 5-7m on Aug. 01
New green leaves have begun to appear.
But, in case of the low degree of the salt damage, the only thing happens
that the periphery of the leaves will change into brown, but trees do not let their leaves drop.
In this case, I am afraid autumn colors will not become clear or vivid.
