I visited East Palace Garden located at the east end of Nara Palace Site on Apr. 24, 2008.

You see Nakajima (Island) on the pond & Two storied Corner House

You will see Suhama, expanding Cape, Nakajima (island) and the Entrance on the other side.

You see Central hall, South garden, Flat bridge & Arched bridge, and a Hall at the northeastern corner.
Lastly, let's see Stones construction for Tsuki-yama (the main garden hill) from two different directions.

We saw those componets of garden such as Tsuki-yama, Suhama (shore), Dejima (cape), Bridges & Yarimizu (curved stream) and so on in this gardens of Nara Period already, and I felt as if I had seen in it the primitive or original form of the Japanese traditional gardens.
