Taizo-in Garden

I visited here in the evening on Dec.17, 2007.
Upper Left : Yakui-mon Gate for main gate, Lower Right : "Hyohnenzu" at the south side of Hohjoh
Dry Landscape Garden west side of Hohjoh is said to be made by Japanese painter KANOH Motonobu of Muromachi era.
It is remarkable that this garden was designed & completed not by a priest or a gardener but by a painter.
You see, Crane Islet with Chohzubachi of this side, Tortoise Islet showing Hohrai-world in the center,
Round Hohrai Stone at the left back and Dry Fall at the right back.
Round Hohrai Stone is at the left back, The panel shows this mass of stone is Crane Islet.
Passing through the Open gate of Yokoh-en, you see In-no-Niwa(garden) & Yoh-no-Niwa, and reach Yokoh-en Garden.
In this case, "In" & "Yoh" are words of oposite meanings, so, for example, when "In" means shade, negative, north, woman, even, "Yoh" means light, positive, south, man, odd, respectively.
UL : In-no-Niwa, UR : Yoh-no-Niwa (sand is lighter)
