I visited Ryoanji at 8 am on May 18, 2008.

A tasteful atmosphere of White Wall of Kuri, Stone Stairs, Ryoanji-style Hedge and New green maples

Stone Garden (south of Hohjoh) of Stone-Frame with White gravel, 15 Stones, Walls made of clay boiled in oil

15 Stones are placed as 5, 2, 3, 2, 3 from the left to the right.

Let's count the number of stones.

UL : 5(1+3+1) stones of the east, UR : 2 stones
LL : 3 stones of about the center, LR : 2 stones at the back, 3 stones of this side

Tsukubai (stone basin to wash hands for the tea room) shows 4 Japanese letters meaning " I learn only to be contented."

We saw maples with fruits like small flowers at everywhere of temple-yard.
