Visit to Konchi-in Garden, Nanzen-ji Temple
I visited Konchi-in on Nov. 22, 2008.
According to brochure, "Konchi-in Temple is one of the subordinate temples of Nanzen-ji Temple, which is the head temple of the Nanzen-ji branch of Rinzai Sect of Zen Buddhism. Originally founded by the priest Daigo in the 15th Century in the Kitayama outskirt of the nothern section of Kyoto City under the aegis of Ashikaga Shogunate, it was later transferred to its present place by the priest Suden. ...... This garden, designed by KOBORI Enshu a garden designer in 1630, is quite well-known as the Crane and Turtle Garden."
