Kohdai-ji Temple Garden

526 Shimokawara-cho Higashiyama-ku Kyoto

2. An article on July 13, 2009

I have visited here before at the time of autumn colored leaves.

It seems for me to be able to understand this garden
when we see this garden in conjunction with that of Entoku-in Temple.

Let's see this garden again.

Scenery of the relaxed broad-minded garden (for me)

It led me to a conclusion that this garden is the relaxed broad-minded garden,
which makes up for the gorgeousness of the garden of Entoku-in Temple.

According to the brochure

"This temple was established in 1606 by Kita-no-Mandokoro (1548-1624)
in memory of her late husband TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi (1536-1598).
Kita-no-Mandokoro was also known as Nene.
The pond garden around Founder's Hall Kaisando is said to have been designed
by the great garden designer, KOBORI Enshu (1579-1647)."

Autumn colors around the Middle Gate to the Founder's Hall

I was fascinated by the autumn colors around the Garyohchi pond
when I entered the Middle Gate leading to the Founder's hall.
