Fuji seen from Isawa, Fuefuki city

Firstly, let me show you "Kohshu Isawa-akatsuki" in "Fugaku Thirty-six Scenery" by KATSUSHIKA Hokusai.

It seems that this picture represented the morning scene of the inn,
seen from the north hill of the Koshu Isawa stage against the background of Fuji.

 I visited on December 1, 2008.

It seemed to me that this scene was viewed from near the Daizokyoji-yama hill,
so I looked for the places with a view of Fuji,
such as Kasugai town, Isawa town, Sakurai town and Yokone town.

It was a good weather, the air gradually became whitish,
and as there occurred clouds near the mountaintop of Fuji,
it became difficult for me to take photos of Fuji .

After some time, when it was slightly cloudless,
I was able to take a photogragh from the road of Kasugai town .

However, the scene was quite different from the image of Hokusai's picture.
That is to say, I could see only the part of the mountaintop of Fuji over the mountains,
but could not see the ridge lines of Fuji.

At last, Fuji that was hiding in the clouds showed me the face.

I could see the town of Fuefuki city but could not see the Fuefuki river.
The scene of Hokusai's picture was at the dawn,
and my photo was taken around 1:00 pm.

I will expand the part of the mountaintop of Fuji.

It seemed lucky for me to shoot Fuji in the above situation.
