It has been said that "slope" of the name of "Nagasaka Town" in the City of Hokuto derives from the "slope" of "Hanamizu-slope".
"Hanamizu-slope" was an important road that connects Kohshu (Yamanashi Pref.) and Shinshu (Nagano Pref.), and was one of "Five roads & nine routes" of Kohshu before.
"Fuji seen from Hanamizu-slope" was one of the "Three Fuji-viewing Scenery in Kai county (Yamanashi Pref.)",together with "Fuji seen from Saigyo pass located at Nambu-cho" and "Fuji seen from Misaka pass.
"Hanamizu-slope" in spring is the most beautiful.
The wild cherry trees become in full bloom and reflect on the surface of the Fukasawa river among the huge pine trees, and this scene shows the origin of the name of Hanamizu slope beautifully.

I visited Hanamizu slope on Sep. 09, 2008.
When I reached the slope of Hakushu-Hanamizu, Mt. Fuji suddenly appeared at the opened place.

Afterwards, I came to another "Hanamizu-slope with Stone tablet" located at "Nagasaka Town Hino"
