Genkyu Rakurakuen Garden

3 Konki-cho Hikone city Shiga Pref.

According to the commentary panel,
"In 1677, II Naooki built this garden.
Referring to "Eight scenic places of Ohmi", Shiraishi of the offing and Chikubu Island,
this garden was built in the early Edo era."
,where "Eight scenic places of Ohmi" was based on "Eight scenic places of Xiaoxiang" around Lake Dongtinghu in China.

I visited on May 15, 2009.

At first, when I crossed Ryuga Bridge (Longwoqiao), and came to the east side of the garden,
I saw a big pond Gyoyaku-sho (Yuyuezhao) spread out.

When I came up to the north side of the pond, Hikone Castle participated in the background.

When I walked to the west and came to Rakurakuen (Keyaki palace), there was a garden of the rocks arrangement.
