Kyu-Furukawa Garden & Maples

I visited Old Furukawa Garden on Aug. 29, 2007.

The western Building by Josiah Conder seen through the leaves of maples

Roots of maple trees are covered with "Kokubokuseki (a kind of volcanic rock) from Mt.Fuji".

Dry Waterfall & Maples, and Stone Tower with 15 layers at the back

Shinji-ike (pond whose shape is like as Japanese character for "Heart"), Snow-viewing Lantern and Maples

At the north side of the pond is Oh-taki (Big waterfall).
It is said that the gardener OGAWA Jihei made it with the utmost care.
