Mt. Fuji seen from Azumayama Park
It is said that Umezawa in "Sohshu Umezawa Hidari"
( in "Fugaku Thirty-six Scenery" by KATSUSHIKA Hokusai)
is Umezawa Ninomiya-cho Kanagawa Pref.
On this ukiyoe print is drawn a mountain just before Fuji,
and a flock of cranes are drawn on the waterside.

Azumayama park of Ninomiya-cho is at the immediate north of "Umezawa crossing" on Route 1.
I walked from the Ninomiya-cho government office to the observatory of the park
around 10:00 a.m. on April 5, 2008.
When I arrived at the observatory, the mountaintop of Fuji was covered by the cloud.
But I was healed by warm light and the soft wind in spring.
In approximately 30 minutes, clouds became thin, and Fuji appeared.
The observatory was filled with the fragrance of spring.
By the way, in the picture of Hokusai, the mountain which is just before Fuji is Yaguradake.
Firstly, as a location that meets the image of Hokusai, Umezawa district is fitting to it.
However, if the element of "swamp" were added more, it would be much closer to the image of Hokusai.
Well, in Kami-Soga area you can see Soga Bairin (plum garden) and Sakawa River basin (swamp).
Here are plum and swamp, that is, "ume & sawa" in Japanese word.
You will find another Umezawa in Kami-Soga area.
Therefore, secondly, do I think that the vicinity of Kami-Soga in Odawara city
is also suitable as the place that meets the image of Hokusai.
Well, Sagami Bay were seen on the left side of Mt. Fuji.
When I moved my eyes to the left side (from the west to the south),
were seen Sagami Bay in front, Odawara city on the right side, and Izu Peninsula in the left depths.
The cherry trees around the observatory of the park were in full bloom.
Clouds became thin and Fuji gradually came to show the face and appearance.
When I began to come home, spring Fuji looked big.
