Acer shibatai (Acer miyabei var. shibatai) , Aug. 2005
at Kumano shrine in Kaida Kiso-machi Nagano Pref.

Acer miyabei & Acer shibatai are in the same group as Acer campestre.
These Maples have fruits with horizontal wings.

The only difference between Acer miyabei & Acer shibatai is
whether there is hairs or not on samaras(i.e. fruits or seed).
That is, Acer miyabei has hairs on fruits, and Acer shibatai does not have.

Let's see young leaves of these maples for comparison.
