Scenery of Oirase Stream

On the morning of October 15,
I reached Ishigado around 10:00 a.m. by JR bus from Yachi spa via Yakiyama.
I heard it takes about 3 hours to walk all the way from Ishigado to Nenokuchi,
the north gate of Lake Towada.
I was going to walk through the whole way for expecting maple viewing at first,
but leaves of trees were still green, and it seemed to me
it would take more two weeks by the peak of autumnal leaves.
There are three bus stops, that is, Mamon-iwa, Kumoi waterfall and Chosi Ohtaki
between Ishigado and Nenokuchi.
I walked as far as Kumoi waterfall at first, there I got on the bus,
from which I watched the outside scenery and reached Choshi Otaki.
After getting off at Choshi Otaki, I began to walk again along the road to Nenokuchi.

Well, it was such a good weather that I perspired. Mamon-iwa appeared after 25 minute walking.
I thought I should have come to Mamon-iwa by bus
because it was hard or me to walk with a hand baggage.
After more 10-minute walk, I reached a place of the dynamic flow called Flow of Asura.
Instantly, I took photos of it.

Let me show Flow of Asura.

From Flow of Asura, I still walked and walked faster perspiring and caring about the time of the next bus.
It arrived at Kumoi's waterfall and the bus came after a while.

Owing to getting on the bus we could see mini waterfalls at hand
such as Tamadare waterfall, Shimai waterfall and etc. that it was difficult to see from promenades.
It got off at Choshi Otaki and took photos.

Kumoi waterfall and Choshi Otaki are shown.

Choshi Otaki is the waterfall only in the Oirase main stream,
and it has the height gap of 7m called "waterfall of fish stop."
"Fish stop" means to make fish stop swimming up.
I heard that there seemed to have been no fish in Lake Towada until fish culture was performed successfully.
I continued to walk from Choshi Otaki again, and it was past 12:00 when I reached Nenokuchi.

I could not enjoy maple viewing on this Oirase Stream walk.
Though I could see fall colors a little at some mountain tops of both sides of the stream,
I thought that beautiful fall colors of Oirase Stream would start
after leaves of trees of the mountains dropped and the mountains finished changing their colors.

As for maples along the stream, I saw Yamamomiji, Ohmomiji, Akaitaya, etc.
