Autumn of Moriyoshi Akita

On October 16, 2001 I visited a sawmill at Moriyoshi Akita Prefecture.
We enjoyed an hour's driving around Lake Taihei at lunch break.
Leaves color change seemed to be just before the peak on the surrounding mountains near here.
From Lake Taihei Green House, we saw Lake Taihei below
and could see the dim shape of Mt. Moriyoshi in the distance.
Broadleaf trees were seen here and there among needle-leaf trees.

Shiraito Falls is near Moriyoshi Mountain Villa. When I took a glance at the top of the waterfall,
I found a kind of light warmth in the autumnal scenery.

I saw Minekaede around the skiing areas, mountain sides of Mt. Moriyoshi this spring.
I checked them this time, but almost all leaves changed their color from yellow to withered.
I took photos of the remained leaves imagining that they would accept the coming severe winter calmly
after they were proud of their green leaves in short summer and bright yellow leaves in autumn.

It was happy I was able to touch the quiet autumn of Akita for a while.
