Landscape of Autumn colors in Hokkaido (Oct.23.'99)

Going south from the city of Sapporo by Route 230, it leads from Jozan-ravine, Hohei-ravine to Lake Toya. On Oct.23, I watched Autumn colors in Hokkaido. But it began to snow and changed from autumn to winter unexpectedly owing to passing of cold front. The snow was dancing. The sudden bitter cold was too hard for me to be full of energy for continuing to travel. Though I was planning to go to Lake Shikotsu and the foot of Mt. Eniwa, I returned at the point of Hohei-ravine.

The scenery within the limits gave me such impression as is a little poor in red color compared with that of Central Japan. What a pity day it was !
